Winter has come ...

Winter is such a magical season with its own unique charm. It’s when the world seems to slow down, and everything is covered in a soft, frosty blanket. Winter finally came when it's snowing every day, and a winter day isn’t complete without building a snowman! A snowman on a winter day brings to mind a charming, cozy scene full of joy.

It’s the type of day that invites you to pause for a moment, marvel at the beauty of nature, and perhaps share a smile with the frosty figure you’ve created. There's something undeniably nostalgic and magical about a snowman standing tall in the middle of a winter day as if it’s a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple, peaceful moments of the season.

We've been waiting for at least 2 to 3  inches of snow. And it finally came. With fresh snow, before it will be plowed or melted, my nephew and niece endured the cold weather and built a snowman family from this week's snow. The pictures below show their imagination and creativity.

There’s something undeniably magical about seeing a snowman standing proudly in a winter wonderland. Whether you're a child experiencing your first snowfall or an adult reminiscing about childhood memories, building a snowman is one of the most cherished winter traditions.

This morning, the weatherman reported that we can expect accumulations of 2 to 5 inches of snow around our area this weekend. Luckily, we have a 3-day weekend to stay up late binge-watching or reading books and curled up with hot cocoa and cookies. And your guess is as good as mine—more snow-building, too, yay!

Checkmate! Last year, after seeing our special chess board game, my nephew asked me if I knew how to play chess. I told him, "I think so, but it's been a while since I played. " So, we set up our chessboard and started playing.  At first, it was confusing because our chessboard was not the chessboard I was taught how to play chess.  It's a special chessboard, as you can see from the picture. It took time for us to get used to the chess pieces. But we have played so many times that we are now familiar with which is supposed to be the rook, knight, bishop, etc.  To my surprise, I sometimes won if I concentrated and anticipated his next move. But most of the time, he would win. Probably because I was too tired to focus, LOL! So when the time came that I couldn't protect "my king" anymore, with a big smile on his face, he would proudly say,  "Checkmate!"

Building Eeveelutions  Since I have a three-day weekend, I finally had the time to do one of my favorite things - building items.  This was a Christmas present that I asked for. You better be careful about what you wish for, or you will get it. I was thrilled to get it, and now the challenge is to build all of these - I love building things because it calms me down and keeps my brain working, which is healthy. I am also very detail-oriented.  I started last night with my favorite eeveelution, before Saturday movie night. To wrap up my 3-day weekend, I completed the rest of eevelutions. Here are the completed eeveelutions: Building Eevee and its evolutions was such an accomplishment. Overall, it was a very productive three-day weekend.
